About the Kingswood Foundation Founded in 1748 by John Wesley, Kingswood is rooted in a belief in the transforming power of education and the importance of each individual. Wesley’s words “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” continue to shape the School’s ethos. Kingswood is a friendly and inclusive community where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and compassion. Academic excellence sits alongside a strong commitment to character, service and all-round personal growth. Pupils are supported to discover and develop their talents while contributing positively to the lives of others. Originally established in Bristol to educate the children of local mining families, the School moved to Lansdown in Bath in 1852. The Foundation now comprises the Prep School (nine months to 11 years) and the Senior School (11 to 18 years), offering a broad and holistic education at every stage. Kingswood Prep School Kingswood Prep School provides a vibrant and nurturing environment in which every child is known and valued.
