Job Description JOB ROLE Head of Learning and Training Partnerships JOB FUNCTION The Head of Learning and Training Partnerships is responsible for leading the strategic direction, quality and growth of NAPAC’s learning offer. This pivotal role ensures the organisation has a high quality, scalable and trauma informed training and consultancy function that supports NAPAC’s mission, strengthens professional practice and generates income. The postholder will lead the development of NAPAC’s learning products, oversee the Trauma Informed Organisations Programme, and build strong relationships with clients and partners. A core part of the role is to grow, manage and quality assure a high-quality blended delivery model, combining internal expertise with NAPAC’s external trainer network so that delivery is scalable beyond internal staff only. The Head of Learning and Training Partnerships will work closely with colleagues to shape proposals, respond to client need, proactively develop opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and ensure that all training products are evidence informed, accessible and aligned with survivor perspectives. They will oversee systems, evaluation and continuous improvement, using insight and data to inform decisions and identify opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong learning and development leadership, excellent stakeholder management skills, commercial awareness and a polished external presence. They will be strategic, organised and collaborative, with the ability to scale a successful function through others while learning quickly about NAPAC’s specialist field. LOCATION NAPAC’s head office, London (hybrid working arrangements considered) HOURS OF Full time 35 hours per week (1.0FTE) flexible working options also WORK available including part time or compressed hours SALARY Salary is advertised at 1.0FTE level and will be pro-rated if appropriate. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY Strategic Leadership of Learning and Training Partnerships Lead the strategic direction, quality and growth of NAPAC’s learning and - end-to-end training offer, ensuring it supports the organisation’s mission, reputation and income generation goals. - Work with the CEO, Chief Operating Officer and colleagues to align the learning offer with organisational priorities and proactively identify opportunities for growth, reach and impact. - Shape a sustainable delivery model that builds capacity through a high-quality blended delivery approach through NAPAC’s external trainer network and internal colleagues where necessary. - Hold accountability for supporting income generation linked to the learning function, including pipeline development, forecasting and conversion, working closely with business development and marketing functions. - Ensure that systems, planning and ways of working support an efficient, professional and scalable function. Stakeholder Relationships and Client Development - Lead relationships with clients, commissioners, partner organisations and other external stakeholders, acting as a polished and credible representative of NAPAC. 2 - Engage clients to understand their needs and shape training and consultancy solutions that are practical, high quality and aligned with NAPAC’s expertise. - Work with relevant colleagues to develop proposals, refine offers, identify opportunities and support negotiations that secure deliverable contracts and strong client relationships. - Build repeat business and strategic partnerships that strengthen NAPAC’s external profile and extend the reach of its learning offer. Trainer Network and Delivery Model - Lead the recruitment, contracting, induction, support and quality assurance of external trainers and training associates, ensuring consistently high standards. - Design and oversee the delivery model across the external trainer network and internal colleagues, ensuring training is well planned, high quality and aligned with client need, subject matter and delivery format. - Maintain a structured associate model including briefing, onboarding standards, performance frameworks, feedback loops and utilisation planning to ensure consistency, quality and sustainability of delivery at scale. - Deliver selected high value or flagship sessions where this adds strategic value, while ensuring that the majority of delivery is commissioned and quality assured through NAPAC’s wider delivery model. - Develop and strengthen approaches such as Train the Trainer activity, staff development and other methods that support quality, consistency and future growth. Learning Offer Development and Quality Assurance - Oversee the development, refresh and continuous improvement of NAPAC’s training and consultancy products, including webinars, online learning, bespoke training and practical resources. - Oversee the development and continuous improvement of online learning modules and manage the learning management system to ensure a high quality learner experience. - Ensure all learning content is evidence informed, trauma-informed, accessible and relevant to the needs of different professional audiences. - Work with the Head of Development, Head of Support Services and other colleagues to ensure content reflects current research, survivor perspectives and wider policy and practice developments. - Research and lead, where suitable, accreditations and other quality markers that strengthen NAPAC’s training offer. 3 Trauma Informed Organisations Programme and Consultancy - Lead and develop the Trauma Informed Organisations Programme, ensuring it remains high quality, practical and responsive to client need. - Work with internal and external stakeholders to promote and expand the programme and identify opportunities for wider uptake. - Provide consultancy input to organisations and policymakers on survivor related issues where this falls within NAPAC’s remit and supports the organisation’s strategic aims. Monitoring, Evaluation and Continuous Improvement - Develop and implement effective approaches to monitoring and evaluation so that NAPAC can assess the quality, impact and reach of its learning offer. - Collect and analyse client and participant feedback to improve products, delivery approaches and trainer performance over time. - Use insight, data and market intelligence to inform decision making, identify opportunities and strengthen the overall learning strategy. - Prepare reports and updates on activity, impact and performance for internal and external stakeholders as required. Leadership and Organisational Contribution - Line manage relevant staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative and high performing working culture. - Maintain up to date knowledge through reading, networking, conferences and professional development. - Support colleagues by contributing specialist expertise to organisational planning, external submissions and funding applications where required. - Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager and CEO. PERSON SPECIFICATION The ideal candidate for the Head of Learning and Training Partnerships role will bring strong learning and development leadership, excellent relationship management skills and the ability to grow a high-quality training function through others. They will be strategically minded, externally polished and committed to NAPAC’s mission. They will either bring, or be able to develop quickly, a strong understanding of the wide ranging impacts of childhood abuse and neglect and the relevance of trauma informed approaches when working with adult survivors and the professionals who support them. 4 Learning, training and partnerships - Significant experience in a senior learning and development, training, consultancy or related leadership role. - Demonstrable experience of developing, growing and improving training or consultancy offers for external audiences, including balancing bespoke delivery with repeatable income generating offers. - Strong understanding of adult learning, learning design and accessibility across face to face and online formats. - Experience of working with, commissioning, managing or quality assuring external trainers, associates or faculty networks would be highly desirable. - Commercial awareness and experience of shaping proposals, building client confidence, proactively developing opportunities and supporting income generation. - A degree or recognised qualification in education, training, organisational development or a related field is desirable. - Experience of supporting the development of staff, trainers or associates within a learning function would be an advantage. Leadership, relationships and development - Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility and rapport with a broad range of stakeholders. - A polished and confident external presence, with evidence of managing senior relationships well. - Collaborative and able to work in partnership with colleagues and clients, ideally with a strengths based and trauma informed leadership approach. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, high quality products and proposals. - Strategic, organised and able to manage competing priorities while building systems and capacity through others. Subject knowledge and approach - A good understanding of the broad relevance of NAPAC’s expertise, including trauma informed approaches, and a willingness and evidenced ability to learn quickly. - Previous trauma informed knowledge and expertise from practice would be an advantage, but a willingness to learn is essential. - Experience translating theory, research and insight into practical knowledge and skills for professional audiences. - Positive attitude towards survivors, their support and recovery. 5 - Good knowledge of the UK health and social care sectors, criminal justice and civil law systems, and or third sector organisations working with survivors of sexual and other types of abuse would be an advantage. Other responsibilities - Creativity, innovation and attention to detail, with highly developed interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS Office, in particular PowerPoint, and presentation tools such as Canva. - Ability to use and keep up to date relevant internal systems, including CRM, learning management and planning tools. - Willingness to engage positively with ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive organisational culture. - Support ad hoc tasks as required. 6
