Scarborough College is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Biology to lead a successful department across KS3, GCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme from September 2026.
The successful candidate will combine excellent classroom teaching with strong subject leadership, overseeing curriculum development, assessment and pupil progress. You will lead and support colleagues, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, while fostering a culture of curiosity and academic ambition within the department.
Teaching remains central to the role, with a focus on delivering engaging lessons that challenge and support pupils of all abilities. The Head of Biology will also promote the subject beyond the classroom through enrichment opportunities such as clubs, competitions and academic clinics.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a key department within a supportive and ambitious school community. Closing date for applications is Wednesday 22 April.
