The difference you will make as a GROW Administration Assistant
Our “Giving Real Opportunities of Work Programme (GROW)” provides employment opportunities to individuals with lived experience of multiple disadvantage (including but not limited to; homelessness, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health and substance misuse) or those with limited experience of work.

You will work in a homeless service and be supported by a Front-Line Service Team throughout the programme.

This is an entry level role which will give you specialised support, training and practical work experience with a structured training programme. The aim is to be successful in developing the required level of skill to progress and secure future employment opportunities.

You will work collaboratively as part of a committed team delivering an outstanding service. You will put customers first and empower them to achieve their goals and aspirations. You will undertake a range of tasks that contribute to the safe and effective delivery of the day-to-day service.

About you
We are looking for someone with:

  • Lived experience of multiple disadvantage (including but not limited to; homelessness, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health and substance misuse) or limited work experience
  • An understanding of the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups and individuals with complex needs
  • You would need to be able to use Microsoft 365 applications and have a satisfactory level of writing skills

Role ProfileDeliver an administration service:
By supporting and assisting the Front Line Service Team in providing an administration services within an operational and customer focused environment by:

  • Delivering an administration service by carrying out day to day office administrative functions such as; communicating with customers, processing referrals, dealing with either customer or colleagues questions, gathering required customer information, supporting in interviews and assessments, obtaining customer feedback and processing any administrational requirements eg. sign posting, referrals to third parties as required.
  • Escalate any information required that supports the operations of the service in relation to customer “Key performance objectives”.
  • Ensure information is held securely and follows GDPR guidance.
  • Assist with the delivery of an effective and communication and administration system across the specified service area.
  • Assist with the organisation of Community Events for the service eg. making required bookings/appointments and preparing required documentation eg. customer material / collateral.
  • Attending and supporting on the deliver of community events that the services is either running or participating in.
  • Work with customers to maintain a safe environment, including reporting any health & safety concerns.
  • Ensure customer safety by following local safeguarding procedures, recognising and acting on any risks and escalating appropriately.
  • Work in line with health and safety requirements to ensure the overall safety and security of the service.
  • Attend various meetings to provide a minute taking function.
  • Use the appropriate group IT systems and record information as required on each system in a consistent and appropriate way.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team of housing and support colleagues and customers on all administrations and operational related issues.
  • Assist customers where possible and to enhance their experience.

Other Duties

  • GROW colleagues will receive specialised support throughout their role which includes a structured development plan, regular one-to-ones with their Line Manager and impartial support though the GROW Mentor scheme and GROW Network.
  • Use the Lone Worker system as and when necessary* upon completion of the structured work programme.
  • Understand that Riverside is a national focused organize and ensure customers are safe at all times - carrying out all of your duties within Riverside’s Policy and Procedure Policy and Procedure framework e.g. health & safety, safeguarding, dignity at work, GDPR opportunities, cash handling, etc.
  • Deliver your role in line with Riverside company values – “Our Riverside Way”.
  • Participate in team meetings, attend regular supervisions and reflecting practice sessions.
  • Undertake regular training and take responsibility for continuous development to enable you to deliver your role safely.
  • From time to time you may be required to undertake additional duties and responsibilities in consultation with your Line Manager.

Additional Information

  • The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there may be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role.
  • The role will be exposed to sensitive information; therefore, the role holder is expected to maintain levels of confidentiality at all times.
