Job Introduction

Turning Point are currently recruiting a Group Work and Training Lead to join Inspire, a vibrant new partnership delivering substance use treatment and recovery services in West Northamptonshire.

We are looking for someone to lead on the support, training and induction of new staff, support with the delivery of our comprehensive group work timetable, co-ordination of our internal CPD and external core and additional training opportunities for our local partners.

We are looking for an energetic, dynamic, and enthusiastic team player. There is a leadership element to the role given the need to welcome and support new staff into our system and ensure they have the requisite training and skills to do their job effectively as well as representing the organisation externally to our partners.

As a Group Work and Training Lead we offer a starting salary of £33,416 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £39,093 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).

Role Responsibility

  • Monitor mandatory training levels and highlighting any areas of concern to senior management
  • Support the training and induction of new staff and provide coaching, support and monitoring throughout their 6-month probationary period
  • Oversee the induction training plan and co-ordinate with the Team Managers and Leaders to ensure that this is in place rotationally to support new staff
  • Delivering mandatory training as well as bespoke training as required by the service
  • Work with the safeguarding lead to ensure that all staff competency is completed during their probationary period
  • Support the competency training review and sign off as required
  • Develop and maintain effective links with our local partner agencies to identify training needs
  • Monitor, identify and address any training needs at an internal and external level in conjunction with L&OD
  • Provide coaching and feedback as required
  • Support relevant review and audit activities
  • Review practice through evaluation of training interventions
  • Ensure all learning records are kept up to date on Explore within a timely manner

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Training qualification
  • Knowledge of IT / digital systems
  • Understanding of the Health & Social Care sector
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of design and delivery of effective learning opportunities
  • Knowledge, skills and experience relating to coaching and mentoring
