Greenkeeper - Burghley Park Golf Club
Burghley Park Golf Club is situated in the historic parkland surrounding Burghley House and located on the outskirts of Stamford. The club maintains a sustainable native grassland links course, with a high proportion of bent and fescue grasses across greens and fairways.
In recent years, the golf club has undertaken an ambitious and forward-thinking course development programme, ensuring environmentally responsible management and long-term sustainability in line with evolving industry standards.
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Greenkeeper to join our established Greens Team on a permanent, full-time basis.Key Responsibilities:
- Daily course set-up and presentation
- Strimming and general course detailing
- Bunker preparation and maintenance
- Divot repairs and turf management
- Fairway mowing and fine turf maintenance
- Range maintenance and ball collection
- Supporting course renovation and development projects
- General landscaping and maintenance to enhance club facilities
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous greenkeeping experience, including fine turf management
- Experience working with bent and fescue grasses
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 certificates
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
- High standards of course presentation and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Experience interacting professionally with members and visitors
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in golf course renovation and development (bunkers, drainage, irrigation)
- Chainsaw (CS) certification
- Basic IT skills
Working Hours & Salary:
- 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (including some weekends)
- Salary: £26,000–£27,000 per annum, dependent on experience
