GMET Director

The Greater Manchester Environment Trust (GMET) is an independent charity hosted by Lancashire Wildlife Trust, working in close collaboration with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to create a greener, more resilient city region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Director to lead the next stage of GMET’s growth, helping channel green finance into Greater Manchester and increase the delivery of nature and green space projects that are already making a significant positive impact across the region.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record in fundraising and income generation, supported by excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence and ability to lead teams, develop partnerships, and manage complex programmes.

Previous experience in a senior leadership role is essential, along with a strong understanding of green finance and nature based solutions.

The position will be offered on an initial 12 month contract, with the potential of an extension subject to funding.

Please note a full driving licence and access to a car with business use insurance is essential, as travel around the region will be required.

In return we offer 28 days holidays, plus bank holidays per annum, increasing with length of service. A friendly and flexible working environment with the chance to be a part of the largest nature conservation body in the area, working together to improve our region for nature as well as engaging and inspiring people to connect and take action for wildlife.
