Purpose of Role

Under the direction of the Global Acquisition Manager, the purpose of the Global Acquisition Officer is to support and execute the acquisition activities of the Individual Giving team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality user experiences that deliver a great return on investment and donor growth.

You will support multi-channel acquisition campaigns, including digital channels, such as paid social, by building and testing donation and landing pages, creating compelling digital content, advert-level reporting and creating campaign briefs for external stakeholders across multiple markets. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns are delivered accurately, on time, and to a high standard.

You will also assist with ad hoc tasks within areas such as DRTV, cold mailing and digital lead generation to support the wider acquisition programs.

This role is well suited to someone at an early stage of their digital fundraising or marketing career who is highly organised, detail-oriented, creative and proactive in exploring new ideas and approaches. The Individual Giving team operates around direct marketing principles, so we’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in direct marketing, is data-driven in making strategic recommendations, and has the ability to understand and analyse data.

Key Responsibilities

1.  Executing acquisition campaigns

  • Write, build, test, publish and maintain donation and landing pages whilst ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and optimisation for conversion.
  • Ensure all digital content is relevant, optimised and can be tracked and measured effectively using relevant tagging and UTM parameters.
  • Write, build and test marketing e-mails and make recommendations for optimizing our e-mail marketing campaigns.
  • Assist the Global Acquisition Campaign Manager with campaign briefs.
  • Look for ways to improve efficiencies, either through processes or ways of working.
  • Manage queries from our supporter care team relating to acquisition campaigns.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks in other acquisition campaigns such as DRTV, cold mailing and lead generation.

2. Content Creation

  • Develop high-quality visual and written content for a wide range of platforms, including but not limited to Meta, Google and YouTube.
  • Tailor content to ensure messaging is relevant, appropriate, and aligned with campaign objectives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure content aligns with wider organisational objectives and mission.
  • Contribute to content brainstorming sessions, suggesting innovative ideas and formats that drive donor growth and conversions.

3.  Data and Administration

  • Upload adverts into Meta with a strong attention to detail.
  • Monitor live social media advertisements to identify issues, comments or trends and update FAQs.
  • Maintain and update project management tools and content calendars with campaign progress and deadlines.
  • Manage creative reporting at ad level such as click-through rate, conversion rate and ROI.
  • Document processes to improve workflow and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage invoices and help track expenditure on campaigns.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings to support effective campaign planning and delivery.

4.  General

  • Proactive attendance at team meetings, relevant seminars and wider staff meetings.
  • Represent Animals Asia at internal and external functions and events as required.
  • Proactively research and monitor the evolving digital landscape for trends, ideas, and opportunities to help optimise campaigns.
  • Work with the Data Insights Analyst to prepare regular and ad hoc reports on retention activity performance.
  • Use Tableau dashboards and reporting tools to monitor income, KPIs, analyse email and campaign performance, and share insights or flag/escalate issues with the wider team.
  • Support post-campaign evaluation by collating results, identifying learnings and making recommendations for future activity.

Requirements

Essential:

  • At least one year experience in direct marketing, preferably in the charity sector.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and the ability to adapt it to fundraising principles.
  • Image and video editing skills using tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere Pro, Photoshop).
  • Ability to adapt content for multiple platforms and international markets.
  • Basic understanding of data reporting and analytics; comfortable working with digital metrics to track campaign performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work with internal tech teams.
  • Willingness to contribute innovative ideas in brainstorming sessions.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Able to follow workflows and document processes clearly.
  • Detail-oriented in managing content, briefs and campaign assets.
  • Proactive, curious, and adaptable in a fast-paced, ever-changing digital environment.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the principles of fundraising, especially in a mass marketing context.
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools e.g. Google Analytics and Google Looker Studio.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads platforms (Search, Display, Performance Max, YouTube) and an understanding of how different formats support acquisition goals.
  • Experience working with digital fundraising platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience with building and testing donation pages.
  • Experience with working with CMS systems such as Fundraise Up and WordPress.
  • Experience using project management platforms such as monday.com.
  • Experience of working with or managing external suppliers and agencies.

Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to convey messages clearly and accurately across digital channels.
  • Clear and confident verbal communication skills, able to explain ideas, raise issues, and provide updates to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external suppliers and international colleagues.
  • Comfortable seeking feedback and approvals.
  • Confident in participating in meetings, contributing ideas, and sharing insights.
  • Commitment to professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Well-presented, articulate and courteous, acting as a positive ambassador for Animals Asia.
