The Division of Geriatric Medicine on Vancouver Island is seeking geriatricians to work across the region. Find your place on Canada’s West Coast in Victoria, Cowichan Valley, Comox or Campbell River.

• In Victoria, the Patient Care Centre is a state-of-the-art facility with an elderfriendly design to meet the unique needs of seniors. The geriatric service provides clinical support to in-patient and out-patient consultations. There is a rotation through all aspects of specialized geriatric services and physicians work with dedicated interdisciplinary teams in most areas. There are no “on call” duties with and attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract.
• The Cowichan Valleyis welcominga new hospital opening in 2027. This new Cowichan District Hospital will expand to 204 beds and there is an opportunity to become involved in the design of seniors’ services. The region offers an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. As part of an interdisciplinary team, collaboration will involve working with a geriatric psychiatrist, family physicians and local medical specialists, as well as liaising with Home and Community Care teams. There will be inpatient consultation to patients in the Cowichan District Hospital up to two days per week and working with a Seniors Nurse Consultant within the hospital.
• The North Island Hospital in Campbell Riverbuilt in 2017 features a renewed facility with an elder-friendly design. The geriatric team provides clinical support to a robust service including in-patient and out-patient consultation as well as follow-up. Physicians work with dedicated interdisciplinary teams in most areas, including a local geriatric psychiatrist. There are no “on call” duties with an attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract.
• Lastly, there is also an opening for a part time geriatrician, based in Comox. Join a team of 15 geriatricians and care of the elderly physicians working across Vancouver Island. The position provides rotation through select specialized geriatric services and works with dedicated multidisciplinary teams in all areas, including nurse practitioners.
