About the role:
Sheffield United Community Foundation is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-qualified GCSE Tutor to deliver English and Maths GCSE courses to Further Education aged students (16-19 yrs). This vacancy is open to newly qualified as well as experienced teachers.
You will be working within a professional football club charity environment, joining our dynamic team of passionate professionals. This role offers the opportunity to teach, mentor, and support Sheffield United Community College students across a range of study programmes and levels (L2 to L3). You are expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons to small groups of 10-15 learners. In addition, you will be responsible for assessing learner’s work as they prepare for GCSE examinations in May.
Key objectives of the Role:
- Deliver outstanding lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners, employing a variety of teaching strategies and ensuring access to a wide range of resources, while providing thorough assessment opportunities.
- Work alongside the college’s subcontractors to deliver GCSE lessons and assessments in line with college requirements and awarding body expectations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner data, including attendance, individual targets, progression, achievements, and destinations.
- Promote learner retention, achievement, and success by providing an exceptional educational experience that empowers learners to reach their full potential.
- Create and sustain an optimal learning environment to enhance the overall learner experience.
