Chelsea Physic Garden, a historic and much-loved botanical garden founded in 1673, is seeking a full time Gardener / Plant records manager. This role blends practical horticulture in the garden 3-4 days a week alongside day-to-day plant record keeping for our plant collections (Gardens, Glasshouses, Herbarium and Seed bank). The candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Tree succession plan at the garden as well as practically maintaining day to day plant records. The post holder will have an opportunity to work with our in-house taxonomist and will be responsible for training specialist volunteers to support their work, such as label making.
If you have an eye for detail, are methodical in delivering processes, meticulous in your data management and have a desire to play an active role in the Horticultural Strategy please do apply. In house training will be provided on the ‘house style’ of record keeping by your line manager, the Head of Plant Collections.
