Target Housing are hiring for a Gardener to join their Maintenance Team.
Locations: Across South Yorkshire -
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)

A full time vacancy has arisen for our gardener to work within our Maintenance Team on Target Housing properties and offices around South Yorkshire. The position will include manual handling and the use of powered gardening and property maintenance equipment. You will be expected on occasions to work alone; you must therefore before be responsible for your own safety, following Target Housing's lone working procedure.
During the off-season, you will carry out additional maintenance duties where required, including painting, decorating and property set ups.
Main Duties:
- To keep all Target Housing property gardens and hedges in the South Yorkshire area neat and tidy.
- To ensure your own safety and that of clients and colleagues when using powered tools.
- To drive a company vehicle and be responsible for completion of drivers' paperwork.
- Carrying out basic maintenance duties during inclement weather.
- Report repairs to Target Maintenance department and liaise with Maintenance staff and/or outside contractors to ensure repairs are completed.
- Any other specific duties or responsibilities as agreed with the Maintenance Manager.
Person Specification:
- Must be self motivated and able to work to own initiative
- Must be willing to be flexible in terms of hours to respond to the needs of the service
- Must be experienced at working in a fast-paced environment
- Previous gardening experience
- Excellent time management skills
- Good verbal communication
- Organised and personable and able to work with a wide range of people
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
- Desirable basic joinery, plumbing, decorating, grounds work
- Desirable valid pesticide certification
