About the role

As a Gardener, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our hospice grounds, creating attractive, safe, and welcoming outdoor spaces for patients, visitors, volunteers, and employees. From routine grounds maintenance and seasonal planting to supporting landscaping improvements, you'll help ensure our gardens and surroundings are cared for to the highest standard. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your horticultural skills in a setting where your work has a meaningful impact every day.

You'll be

• Maintaining garden sheds / workshops and all tools and machinery keeping them tidy and safe at all times.
• Carrying out a full range of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Identifying and treating pests, diseases, and plant health issues.
• Carrying out maintenance of lawns, flower and vegetable gardens, including watering, fertilizing, and caring for trees, shrubs, turf, and associated hard landscaping features such as irrigation systems and water features.
• Managing teams of volunteers and corporate groups on a weekly basis, ensuring guidance and support is adequately provided.
• Working with external suppliers.
• Carrying out and accurately recording grounds compliance checks, including daily and monthly playground inspections and routine water feature treatments.
