Future Fund Storytelling Lead
About
Young Manchester is seeking an exceptional videographer and storyteller - who can bring complex social and economic stories to life, with warmth, integrity, and visual intelligence. You will work directly with the young people in the cohort, the programme team, and the Communications Officer whilst supporting the young people to develop their own storytelling voices where they want to.
Location: Manchester
Contract length: 6 months, July 2026 – December 2026
Fee: £3,000 (excluding VAT) {open to negotiation}
About the Future Fund
The “Future Fund” is a concept being developed by Young Manchester for a long-term, youth-owned endowment and investment vehicle designed to shift power, wealth, and decision-making toward young people in Manchester.
At its core, the Future Fund is intended to:
- Create permanent, sustainable funding for youth and play
- Enable young people to participate in economic ownership and investment
- Build wealth literacy and financial capability
- Develop new models of democratic and participatory finance
- Support community wealth building in Manchester
- Give young people real governance and decision-making power over capital
HOW TO APPLY

- A portfolio of 2–3 relevant short films or excerpts
- A brief covering statement (max 1 side) explaining your interest and approach
- Two references
- A proposed day rate or project fee.
