General Statement of Duties:
The Fundraising Operations Officer plays a central role in helping to ensure the effective running of the UK office and its fundraising activities.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring excellent supporter care and efficient fundraising administration. They will manage the day-to-day relationship with lower and mid-level donors, fundraising committees and volunteer-led groups, ensuring supporters receive consistently high standards of stewardship and engagement.
Working closely with the Executive Director, UK and other members of the fundraising and communications team, the postholder will also support the delivery of fundraising appeals and events, maintain accurate donor records, and ensure the systems and processes underpinning the UK Office operate effectively.
The role requires an organised, proactive and relationship-focused individual who can manage competing priorities and play a central role in supporting the growth of voluntary income for St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group.

Coordinate the planning and delivery of SJEHG fundraising and stewardship events, and support colleagues in the delivery of fundraising appeals, ensuring activities are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
• Contribute to the growth of voluntary income by improving fundraising processes, supporter engagement and operational efficiency.
Main responsibilities:
• Coordinate the day-to-day fundraising administration of the UK Office, ensuring efficient systems, processes, policies and records are maintained.
• Support the Executive Director, UK, in improving fundraising systems, administrative processes and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate supporter records and ensure effective day to day use of Raiser’s Edge CRM, contributing to the development of supporter insights, forecasts and reports to support fundraising activity and decision-making.
Work with UK and Jerusalem colleagues to ensure donations are processed and reconciled accurately; produce fundraising and financial reports, as required, to support planning and decision-making.
• Provide excellent supporter care, acting as a first point of contact for all general fundraising enquiries and ensuring all low and mid-value donations are acknowledged promptly.
Act as a first point of contact for the Friends of SJEHG providing day to day administration and supporter care and ensuring members receive timely communications and a high standard of stewardship. This includes responding to queries, processing memberships/donations and ensuring records are accurate.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with fundraising committees, volunteer groups, Order of St John organisations and in-aid-of supporters; be a principal point of contact for these groups.
Manage the day-to-day relationship with the Guild fundraising committee and provide administrative and event support to the Guild and Eye Youth Executives Committee, helping them to develop and deliver effective fundraising plans and activities.
Support the delivery of fundraising appeals, campaigns and supporter communications, including the Jerusalem Scene newsletter and working with the Grants & Partnerships Officer to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the trusts and foundations pipeline, including proposals submitted and funding secured.
Provide administrative support for SJEHG fundraising and stewardship events, helping to ensure they are delivered professionally, on time and within budget. This includes managing all event administration including invites, guest lists, suppliers and venue logistics.
• Maintain the UK Office calendar of key meetings, events, fundraising activities and deadlines.
• Coordinate meetings, as required, including scheduling, preparation of papers and taking and distributing minutes.
• Represent SJEHG at fundraising, community and supporter events, including occasional evening and weekend activities.
• Manage the SJEHG online shop and merchandise operation, including stock management, fulfilment of orders and supporter communications.
• Support the Executive Director, UK in tracking and monitoring income and expenditure relating to fundraising committees, events and appeals.
• Contribute to the delivery of the UK fundraising plan through effective operational support and reporting.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and its level of responsibility.
