Are you an enthusiastic fundraiser who loves writing compelling bids, building relationships, and helping communities thrive?

Do you enjoy supporting others, working collaboratively, and making a meaningful difference?

Are you excited by the idea of helping churches and communities grow in confidence, generosity and impact?

If so, this could be the ideal role for you.

The Role

We’re the Diocese of Bristol — the Church of England across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire and Swindon. You may think you already know us… but there is far more going on here than many expect.

We are strengthening our culture of generosity, deepening trust with parishes, and investing in our External Relations Team to support this vision. As part of this work, we are delighted to be recruiting a Fundraising Manager to play a hands‑on role in growing income, supporting parishes, and helping embed a culture of generosity across our churches.

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

  • Write high‑quality, compelling funding bids to trusts, foundations and external funders
  • Coordinate diocesan fundraising activities, including digital appeals, seasonal campaigns and community fundraising
  • Support strong donor stewardship and ensure funders are thanked, recognised and well‑informed
  • Equip parishes with practical fundraising advice, toolkits, training and one‑to‑one support
  • Contribute to the wider generosity and giving agenda, helping deliver resources, insights and data analysis
  • Build strong relationships with parishes, partners, funders and colleagues
  • Play an active role across the External Relations Team, supporting shared goals and collaborative projects

This is a role for someone organised, proactive and enthusiastic — someone who enjoys both the creative and practical sides of fundraising and is motivated by helping churches flourish.

About You

You will be a strong communicator with proven experience in fundraising — particularly bid‑writing and trust applications — and confident in managing relationships with funders, parishes and partners. You’ll bring energy, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Experience in a church or faith-based environment is welcome but not essential.

Above all, you will be someone who cares deeply about helping others make a positive difference in their communities.

We also offer:

  • Flexible working
  • 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
  • A contributory pension scheme and life assurance
  • A Health Cash Plan
  • Company sick pay
  • Free onsite parking
  • A warm, supportive and values‑led team
