Fundraiser Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Edinburgh/Hybrid Full time, Monday-Friday Salary: £31,000 Purpose of Role To drive forward community fundraising so that Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity can fulfil its Commitment that No Child Should Face Hospital Alone. This role is about people: inspiring them, supporting them, and empowering them to fundraise for ECHC. You’ll build meaningful relationships across our communities, motivate supporters to take action, and deliver excellent stewardship that keeps them with us for the long term. Areas of Responsibility Income Generation and Supporter Engagement • Deliver against income targets set out in the Fundraising Strategy, driving growth in community fundraising. • Build a strong pipeline of supporters across local businesses, community groups, schools, families, hospital staff and individuals. • Proactively generate, manage and grow supporter-led fundraising (DIY events, community events, bucket collections, challenges, school fundraising, Rotary/SWRI/Scouts/Brownies etc.). • Use compelling storytelling - including hospital tours - to inspire people to get involved and understand their impact. • Confidently ‘make the ask’ to convert interest into support and maximise every opportunity. • Cross-sell and up-sell products and engagement opportunities to deepen supporter involvement. Relationship Building and Stewardship • Be a highly visible presence within the hospital community, building strong, positive relationships with families, NHS colleagues, staff and volunteers. • Provide outstanding stewardship that ensures supporters feel valued and informed at every stage. • Work collaboratively across the Fundraising Team, including Corporate and Partnerships and Supporter Care, to ensure seamless supporter journeys. Volunteer Engagement • In partnership with the Volunteer Manager, recruit and motivate a volunteer team to support community fundraising activity. • Deliver talks, presentations and information sessions, using volunteers appropriately to help amplify impact. Planning, Reporting and Compliance • Contribute to budgeting and develop clear annual plans for your fundraising activity • Track, analyse and report on income, delivering timely updates and mitigation plans where necessary. • Maintain accurate supporter records with the CRM system and ensure all work complies with data protection, fundraising regulation and best practice. • Evaluate risk and prioritise activities with the best return on investment. Additional Responsibilities • Represent ECHC as an ambassador, protecting and enhancing our reputation. • Keep abreast of sector developments and competitor activity. • Flexibly support wider organisational activity as required. Requirements Requirements Essentials Desirable Education & Qualifications Qualified to HND level or Qualification from with equivalent CIOF/CIM/CIPR or other professional experience recognised professional body.
