As a Shared Lives Manager, you will lead, grow and shape this across your area, supporting Shared Lives Officers, Shared Lives carers, and the people who draw on our support to create safe, meaningful, and lasting matches.
This is a leadership role with real impact. You will be responsible for quality, growth, compliance, and culture across Shared Lives, while embedding MacIntyre’s DNA and Everyone Everywhere into everyday practice.
What you’ll be doing
Leading for people who draw on our support
- Ensuring every person has a voice, choice and control in their life
- Making sure person-centred plans, risk assessments and support guidelines are meaningful and lived
- Building strong relationships with families, advocates, health professionals and local authorities
- Leading reviews, Care Act assessments and multi-disciplinary meetings
- Promoting people’s gifts, passions and community connections
- Embedding Everyone Everywhere in everyday life
Leading and developing your workforce
- Line managing and developing Shared Lives Officers
- Leading recruitment, assessment and approval of Shared Lives carers
- Creating a positive, inclusive and values-led culture
- Ensuring high-quality induction, supervision, and performance support
- Supporting wellbeing, development and professional growth
- Involving the people we support in recruitment decisions
Leading quality, compliance and safeguarding
- Ensuring full CQC, Care Act and Local Authority compliance
- Maintaining excellent records, audits and oversight
- Leading safeguarding practice and risk management
- Preparing for and responding to inspections and audits
- Working closely with Health, PBS, Compliance and Best Practice teams
Growing and sustaining Shared Lives
- Supporting the growth and development of Shared Lives across your area
- Monitoring financial performance and sustainability
- Ensuring effective cover arrangements for carers
- Promoting Shared Lives internally and externally
- Being a visible and positive ambassador for MacIntyre

About you
We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes MacIntyre’s values and brings:
- Experience of managing staff in a CQC regulated adult social care staff
- Experience leading teams and developing people
- Experience in recruitment, induction and quality assurance
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, visible and solution-focused approach
- Confidence in digital record keeping and reporting
- A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Desirable: Shared Lives or Social Work experience
You’ll also take part in an on-call rota and occasionally work flexibly when needed.
