Freelance Project Manager – Literature, Events & Marketing

Remote
Full-time
Listed today

About the Role

September to November 2026.

Working alongside our small Festival team, you’ll provide additional project management capacity across our autumn literature programmes including Raworths Literature Festival and Raworths Salon North, alongside other literary events, projects and partnerships.

We’re looking for someone who can come in, get up to speed quickly and confidently take ownership of projects, keeping all the moving parts moving and making sure great ideas turn into brilliantly delivered events.

The work will include:

  • Project managing individual events and strands of activity from planning through to delivery
  • Liaising with authors, agents, publishers, venues, suppliers and partners
  • Managing schedules, deadlines, logistics and event information
  • Co-ordinating artist arrangements, travel and accommodation where required
  • Supporting event production and on-the-ground delivery
  • Managing budgets, spend and income
  • Working with the HIF team to coordinate marketing activity around events and projects
  • Helping develop and deliver audience-facing communications, including digital, social and email activity
  • Gathering and coordinating copy, images, author information and other marketing assets
  • Identifying opportunities to build audiences, increase visibility and drive ticket sales
  • Ensuring partners, authors and publishers have the information and assets they need to help amplify activity
  • Picking up discrete projects and seeing them through from start to finish

We’re looking for someone with excellent project management and administrative experience and you don’t need to come from a literary festival background, but you should be comfortable working at pace and juggling several projects simultaneously.

This would suit someone who is practical, calm, organised and a natural problem-solver.

The role is short-term/freelance and will run across September to November with the potential to extend across a wider range of projects up until Christmas.

The scope, data and working pattern to be agreed depending on experience and availability. There will be a particular need for availability around key autumn delivery dates.
