The BFI is the UK’s lead organisation for film and a globally recognised cultural institution. As a government arm’s length body and distributor of National Lottery funding, BFI support the cultural, creative, and economic development of film across the UK.
Driven by a shared commitment to support audacious emerging talent to build sustainable and remarkable careers, BFI and Film4 have joined forces to offer Future Takes. The role is for candidates who have: a ‘producer’ or ‘produced by’ credit on at least one UK-funded theatrically distributed feature film or television/platform broadcasts to provide consultancy and mentoring support to the Future Takes awarded teams across development, production, and delivery of their funded projects.
The consultants will be required to apply their hands-on production experience to assist producers in delivering projects on time, on budget, and in line with BFI and Film4 processes and industry standards.
This freelance role is designed to provide high-level, advisory support to funded producers and projects, helping them navigate the development and production process with confidence. The role is for individuals with a strong understanding of the UK film landscape, a passion for talent development, and a track record of producing impactful and successful work. This role is ideal for those who enjoy mentoring and empowering emerging producers, and who can offer strategic, creative, and practical guidance across development, production, and delivery.
