Job Summary
To lead the day-to-day delivery of hospitality operations so that service is safe, efficient and delivered to a consistently high standard across all trading environments.
The key responsibilities for the Food and Beverage Operations Manager include;
Operational delivery
- Lead shifts across hospitality areas so that service is delivered smoothly and safely
- Maintain operational standards so that presentation, cleanliness and compliance expectations are consistently met
- Act as escalation point so that issues are resolved quickly and effectively
Team leadership
- Supervise and deploy team members so that roles are clear and performance is consistent
- Provide coaching during service so that capability improves and standards are maintained
- Foster a positive working environment so that teams are engaged and accountable
Workforce coordination
- Support staffing plans so that the right people are in place at the right time
- Ensure adherence to shift timings and structure so that labour is controlled and delivery is consistent
- Work with People Operations so that planning translates effectively into live delivery
Commercial delivery
- Monitor performance during service so that revenue opportunities are maximised
- Support stock control and reduce waste so that profit is protected
- Ensure correct pricing and product availability so that income is not lost
Event delivery
- Support planning and delivery of events so that hospitality integrates effectively with wider operations
- Adapt to changing conditions so that delivery remains stable under pressure
Safety and compliance
- Ensure all activity meets legal and organisational standards so that risk is managed
- Actively monitor safety during service so that issues are identified early
Flexibility
- Work across operational areas as required so that the wider venue delivers effectively
The person specification for the Food and Beverage Operations Manager are;
ESSENTIAL
- Experience in hospitality or event operations
- Strong leadership presence in live environments
- Ability to manage teams in fast-paced situations
- Good commercial awareness
- Commitment to high standards of service and safety
- Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Willing to complete relevant statutory checks eg DBS (Factory International can support with processing and payment)
DESIRABLE
- Experience in large-scale or complex venues
- Interest in developing multi-skilled teams
- Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
