About the Role

NTU is committed to providing high quality sporting opportunities for its students and staff, irrespective of their experience.

The NTU Sport commitment is to create a culture where regular participation in physical activity is the norm – thereby making a significant contribution to the wellbeing and academic achievement of the NTU community; a minimum of 70% of NTU students are regularly participating in physical activity by 2025.

Our facilities and operations team are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our highly successful department of more than 50 sports staff dedicated to ensuring that an NTU student’s lifestyle is much more than lectures and lie-ins.

Are you passionate about fitness and wellbeing? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where every interaction makes a difference? We’re looking for a proactive, people-focused Fitness Instructor to energise our campus community.

At NTU Sport, you’ll do more than lead workouts, you’ll build lasting relationships, drive customer retention, and create a welcoming, motivating atmosphere on the gym floor. Whether you're sparking conversations, offering expert guidance, or delivering top-tier sessions, you’ll be central to helping students and staff achieve their goals and feel part of something bigger. Ready to inspire, engage, and elevate the NTU fitness experience? Let’s get moving.

As a Fitness Instructor your main duties will include:

Engaging with customers

Delivering fitness sessions such as Express Classes & Intro to Fitness

Complete cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Assist with front of house duties - customer queries, processing bookings, payments

Administrative support

Setting up of sports equipment

You will have a flexible approach and be professional in delivering exceptional customer service at all times. You must be reliable and conscientious with great communication and organisation skills, good team work and willingness to work evenings and weekends is essential.

For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
