Finance Intern

You will play a key role in supporting financial administration, processing transactions, managing data, and helping ensure financial integrity and smooth operational delivery ahead of, during, and after New Wine Festival 2026.

Roles and Responsibilities
You will be part of a busy team delivering excellent financial and administrative support throughout the lead‑up to, during, and after New Wine Festival 2026. Responsibilities may include:
- Processing daily financial tasks, including raising invoices, recording payments, and supporting the reconciliation of accounts.
- Handling finance-related queries via email and phone with professionalism, clarity, and sensitivity.
- Assisting with the monitoring and reconciliation of festival income, including delegate bookings, team fees, and onsite payments.
- Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with weekly and monthly financial reporting, preparing summaries, and updating internal spreadsheets and financial systems.
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records, including digital filing, receipting, and documentation tracking.
Other potential areas of responsibility
- Assisting with expense processing, including reviewing receipts, coding transactions, and preparing reimbursement batches.
- Supporting the Finance Team with supplier management, including processing purchase orders and tracking contract payments.
- Assisting with the preparation of festival‑specific reconciliations (e.g., catering, venues, resources, ticket income).
- Supporting financial compliance processes, collecting required documentation, and ensuring internal policies are followed.
- Helping prepare data and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Undertaking other administrative duties to support the Finance Team and wider Operations Team as required.

Required Skills and Experience

- Responsible self-starter who is highly organised and takes the initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
- Strong numerical skills and confidence handling financial information.
- High level of discretion and wisdom, especially when managing sensitive financial data.
- Ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks with accuracy.
- Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and unafraid of challenges.
- Strong time‑management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines.
- Commitment to the mission and values of New Wine.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft 365.
- Experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, or handling payments.
- Customer service or administrative experience.
- Experience in charity finance or event‑based finance is a bonus.

Following the online interviews, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a second-stage in-person interview at our London office on 30 April.
