Full Time – Flexible 30 – 37.5 hours per week)
£60k per annum (pro rata) depending on experience
Homebased with regular travel to other locations (mainly London and Colchester office)

Are you a senior finance professional looking for your next move? If so, our FP&A Finance Business Partner is a great opportunity to work alongside the Chief Commercial Officer to support, develop and deliver the retail strategy at Sue Ryder

About the role
As our FP&A Finance Business Partner, you will provide strategic financial input, insight and recommendations to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Retail Senior Leadership Team and Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis based on analysis of operational performance, economic trends & competitor landscape.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Chief Commercial Officer in the development of a new strategy for Sue Ryder retail
• Lead in the strategic financial management for the Retail portfolio in line with industry insights and analysis
• Act as a trusted Business Partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Leadership Team by building effective working relationships in order to maximise financial opportunities and reduce risk for the business
• Manage the preparation of the Retail and forecasts budgets
• Report and communicate key variances vs budget / forecast with variance analysis and forecast of full year performance
• Inspire, motivate, coach, mentor and manage direct reports to align output with departmental objectives.

About you
• Experience of being a Business Partner to an Executive Director, providing financial business insights in a complex business environment
• Experience of supporting the development of a strategy for a multi-site, multi-channel, multi-million £ retail organisation of a similar size and complexity
• Demonstrable success of working with senior business leaders to improve performance
• Strong commercial acumen, with a good understanding of the retail sector
• Demonstrable experience in developing and utilising key management information & systems to drive improved performance & develop financial strategies
• Significant experience of supporting and challenging assumptions in the preparation of budgets, forecasts & variance analysis

Minimum Essential criteria:
• Excellent IT skills; advanced user of Excel & business modelling skills
• Qualified Accountant holding a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Experience of distilling financial analysis into concise, insightful, impactful written & verbal communications to audiences with varied financial knowledge
