Landmarks is an independent specialist day college for young people with learning disabilities and difficulties. The college offers a wide range of programmes that are tailored to each individual’s needs. Landmarks operates from several sites across; Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, with our main site located in Eckington, S21 4EF. Landmarks has several satellite provisions in Rotherham, Nottingham city Centre and a “real-life” hospitality and catering facilitate in Rainworth, Mansfield. There may be a requirement to transport learners in your own car, insurance implications are reimbursed. Mileage and expenses are provided for travel during the working day. Page 1 Main Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to: • Financial assistance in duties leading to the production of month-end management accounts. • Support the finance director in the production of month end management accounts. • Review the fixed asset register regularly with the Finance Director. • Management of finance staff if/when recruited in future. • Payroll submissions on a monthly basis and accuracy checks. • Keep on top of bad debt to ensure a maximum of 1% total income at any given time. To input and track westfield health information and the Life cover scheme. To process pension contributions – Teachers and Standard Life. • • • Reconciling and postings of company bank accounts on a daily basis. • • Posting and reconciliation of company credit cards. • Review and update schedules for other accounting entries, such as Intercompany accounts reconciliation. prepayments and accruals. • Posting of journals for subsidiary accounts. • Processing of sales ledger invoices, maintaining sales ledger and understanding of our Local Authorities purchase orders. • Schedule and review the chasing of outstanding debts. • All processing of purchase ledger invoices, maintaining the purchase ledger. • Monthly banking collection – planning and organising. • Payment of any invoices and Pos. • Assist with the external audit process. • Carry out the duties and requirements of the post in compliance with Landmarks Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection and other policies and procedures. Our Finance Manager is employed at our Littlemoor House site in Eckington, they need to be able to: • work on their own initiative; • possess good organisational skills; • be a good communicator; • have good ICT skills; • be flexible and adaptable; • be capable of managing a challenging workload, with good time • management skills and an ability to deliver to deadlines; Individuals need to have an engaging disposition and show enthusiasm in their role. • willingness to study is desirable. Person Specification The selection process will involve assessments being made on the extent to which applicants meet the criteria listed in the table below: Essential Qualifications Good standard of general Desirable education Inc. English and Math (GCSE level or above) Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience Experience of working successfully and co - operating as a member of a team. Skills To be able to manage a workload with competing priorities. AAT (part/full) or willingness to study. Experience of using accounting software. Experience in a finance setting. Understanding of financial procedures. Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) at all levels. Promote a positive working environment. Be able to work under pressure. Produce accurate work. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to act on own initiative. Have confident IT skills including Word, Excel, email and database programs. Knowledge Reconciliation and problem solving. Understanding of basic accounting concepts. Understand the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Safeguarding, including Child Protection, Equal Page 3 Confident in using accounting software.
