Hours of work 20 hours per week Salary £13.45 per hour £13,988 Actual Annual Salary (FTE: £26,227.50) Holidy entitlement 92 hours annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (FTE: 172.5 hours) Pension 3% employer contribution Based at Accommodation Concern, Northamptonshire Direct reports None Application Deadline 5pm on Wednesday 22nd April 2026We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Assistant – Accounts Receivable to join our finance team at Accommodation Concern.
This role is key to supporting the organisation’s financial processes, with a particular focus on accurately recording and reconciling income across a range of streams, including rental income, housing benefit and other funding sources. The post will also support wider finance administration, including reconciliations, payroll checks and reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in accounts receivable or income management who is looking to use their skills in a role that supports a charity making a real difference across Northamptonshire.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day income transactions, including invoicing, collections and account queries
- Record and reconcile income accurately across systems including QuickBooks and RoomMatch
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up discrepancies or unpaid amounts
- Reconcile bank, credit card and other financial accounts
- Support month-end reporting, cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting
- Assist with payroll checks, pension administration and wider finance processes
- Maintain organised financial records for audit and compliance purposes
- Provide cover for other finance colleagues where needed to support continuity across the team
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in accounts receivable, income management or a similar finance support role
- A good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A professional, reliable and proactive approach to work
It would also be beneficial if you have experience of the QuickBooks accounting software, or experience within the charity sector.
