Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service Job title: Finance Assistant Location: Chesterfield. Contract type: Fixed Hours: 15 hours per week Salary: £ 10,015 per annum (FTE: £24,704) Benefits: You will receive 25 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays, both pro-rated based on your working hours. Accountable to: Service Manager Reporting to: Finance Manager Base: DAAS, First Floor, Dent’s Chambers, 81 New Square, Chesterfield, S40 1AH. Role Overview: As the Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Manager with daily operations and wider finance projects. Manage timesheets, our online HR annual leave system for payroll purposes and other general finance duties. This is an office-based role located at our Chesterfield office. This role offers career progression and flexibility, which could be ideal for someone looking to work around school hours or other commitments. Required Skills and Experience: • Educated to a minimum of GCSE or NVQ Level 2 Maths and English. • Previous experience working in payroll and Finance Administration. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel. • Strong numerical skills with a high level of accuracy. • Proactive, organised and able to work independently. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: • To complete monthly payroll submission to an external payroll bureau. • Manage and maintain employee contracts and data files. • Manage and maintain our online Bright HR annual leave system. • Timesheets – collation and analysis for payroll purposes. • Support key finance operations across purchase and sales ledger. • Support Finance Manager with projects and daily operations. • Maintaining accuracy and compliance with financial procedures. • General administrative duties, including maintaining stocks of resources and ordering stationery. • Maintaining petty cash. • Engage in all required training for the role, including statutory and mandatory courses, as well as role-specific professional development. • Attend staff meetings and participate in supervision and appraisals. • Be flexible to meet service needs. • Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and organisational policies. • Attend external meetings or training as required.
