Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit a Festival & Events Coordinator to join our Festival team.
Edinburgh University Students’ Association is an award-winning organisation, which exists to provide diverse services, representation, and welfare support to the community of over 49,500 students at the University of Edinburgh. By providing opportunities, helping to create change and offering support, we're here to help students get the most out of their time in Edinburgh. We have five venues around the University of Edinburgh campus – Teviot, King’s Buildings House, Potterrow, the Pleasance and Edinburgh College of Art’s Wee Red Bar – which house our offices, cafés, bars, clubs, spaces for students to meet, study and socialise. These spaces transform into some of the most well loved Edinburgh Festival Fringe venues throughout the month of August each year.

We are currently on the hunt for an enthusiastic Festival & Events Coordinator for a 6 months fixed term to join our team:
When you join us as Festival & Events Coordinator, you become part of the team that is dedicated to supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of all Fringe Festival activity across our spaces. All of this happens across our iconic venues – Teviot, Potterrow, the Pleasance and Edinburgh College of Art’s Wee Red Bar. We have a unique collection of existing and pop up bars, shops and catering outlets; alongside a packed program scheduled by our festival partners as well as a hospitality programme. The planning and delivery of the festival is a dynamic role and will require creative flair to help us deliver multiple aspects simultaneously.
Salary: £15.02 per hour, plus a generous benefits package:
- Holiday paid at 15.55% in January, April, July and September

The Role:
The Festival & Events Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and any other key events activity across the organisation. The role works closely with the Festival Business Manager and internal teams, external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure the Festival is delivered safely, professionally, on time and within budget. The role is to provide clear, timely and accurate information to peers, colleagues and external clients as required. Along with day-to-day administration duties, the role will support with staff recruitment and training administration which will be required over this period.
The role will suit someone with experience of events coordination, an interest in large scale events planning and who can demonstrate excellent planning, communication, administration, organisational and time management skills. The post holder will possess strong written and communication skills, as well as the confidence and ability to build successful relationships with a broad spectrum of clients, stakeholders, and suppliers. This post requires a keen eye for detail, patience as well as a client/customer focused approach.
Evening and weekend work will be required during the Fringe Festival period.
The Person:
An individual with a passion for festivals, events, organisation and customer service who thrives on delivering memorable experiences. An individual who can multitask, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and who is adaptable to change.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with great planning and organisational skills. The post holder will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders. A person with very high expectations of themselves and others, with a passion for detail and the ability to maintain service delivery at a consistently high standard.
