Imagine a job where you can change someone's life by doing the things you take for granted?

As a Support Worker at Affinity Trust, you’ll play an important role each day by supporting people to take part in the activities and experiences they value, helping them to live with confidence and independence.

It might be something simple like taking a walk to the shops to get a pint of milk; or something bigger like supporting someone to visit the gym for the first time, start a new hobby, or even take a trip abroad.

We provide complete training to enable you to provide the best support you can to people living with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health needs.

In this role, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a lady who enjoys being active in her community every day, so being a confident driver is essential.

She has a range of interests including gardening, swimming, arts and crafts, and listening to her favourite artist, Daniel O’Donnell. We’re looking for someone who shares her enthusiasm for these activities and is passionate about supporting people to live full and meaningful lives.

She lives in a shared home with two other ladies and two gentlemen. You will have the opportunity to get to know everyone in the home and may provide support to others from time to time. Each person has their own unique needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and personal care requirements.

The people we support enjoy a variety of activities, such as attending local community groups, listening to music, gardening, and taking part in arts and crafts. You will play an important role in helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

What truly matters is your kindness, positivity, and desire to make a difference in someone’s day.

Making a difference for those we support includes;

Allowing people to fulfil and enjoy their daily routines and achieve their goals

Building trust, connection, and independence

Developing yourself alongside a compassionate, mindful and dedicated team of colleagues"Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010".
