You’ll support autistic people and adults with learning disabilities to live more independently, building confidence and joy in everyday life. We’ll support you too, with a workplace that values wellbeing, listens to every voice, and offers real opportunities to grow through Aspire and Dimensions Academy. Recognised as a Great Place to Work for eight years running, this is more than a job – it’s a place where you can truly be you.

About the Role

  • Female Support Worker
  • Part time – 28 hours per week
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2
  • Full UK Manual driving licence essential.

We're looking for a Female Support Worker to join our supported living home in Hemel Hempstead, providing personalised support to one woman to maintain her independence, achieve her goals, and enjoy the interests that are important to her.

She leads a busy and active life and enjoys yoga, dancing, swimming, trips into town, and catching up over coffee and cake. You'll support her to stay connected to her community, explore her interests, and continue building the skills and confidence that enable her to live life on her terms.

As her Support Worker, you'll work alongside her to promote choice, independence and wellbeing in all aspects of daily life. This includes supporting with personal care, mobility, medication, health and wellbeing needs, household tasks and everyday routines, always recognising what she can do for herself and encouraging her to develop and maintain her independence.

No two days are the same. Whether you're supporting her to attend hobbies, enjoy a day out, manage daily responsibilities, or simply achieve a personal goal, you'll play a key role in helping her live a full and meaningful life.

This is a lone working role with shifts from 8am to 10pm followed by a sleep-in, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as driving is an important part of supporting her to access her community, maintain routines and enjoy the activities she loves.

Whether you're completely new to support work or already have experience, we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed. This includes a comprehensive induction, the Care Certificate, ongoing learning opportunities, recognised qualifications and career development through our award-winning training programmes.

About You

You don't need previous experience in social care to thrive in this role. What matters most is your values, attitude and passion for helping someone achieve great outcomes. You'll be someone who:

  • Shares our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect.
  • Enjoys supporting people to develop skills, confidence and independence.
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Is patient, reliable and able to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
  • Is comfortable supporting with personal care, medication and everyday living tasks.
  • Works well independently while remaining part of a wider support team.

Above all, you'll understand that great support is about recognising potential, celebrating achievements, and helping people have choice and control over the life they want to live.
