Is This You?

Do you stay calm when things take time?
Can you explain information clearly and more than once if needed?
Do you value routine, structure and helping others feel safe and confident?

We welcome applications from people at all levels — whether you’re new to social care or have lots of experience. This is a physical, hands‑on role, and to succeed you’ll have:

  • Good spoken and written English
  • A full UK manual driving licence
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • A practical, active approach to work, with the ability to support people throughout the day
  • A caring, positive and resilient mindset

If you genuinely care about people, we can teach you the rest.

How Will You Make a Difference?

As a Support Worker, you’ll help people live fuller, more independent lives by:

  • Supporting daily routines from morning to bedtime
  • Planning and enjoying person‑centred activities — walks, swimming, shopping and trips out
  • Building trusted, respectful relationships that support confidence and wellbeing
  • Keeping clear and accurate records
  • Working closely with colleagues and professionals

This is a role where building strong relationships is just as important as providing practical support.

About Applewood — Who Will You Support?

At Applewood, you’ll support five people who value routine, clarity and conversation. They feel most at ease when they know what’s happening next and when they’re supported by someone calm and reassuring.

They enjoy:

  • Going for walks
  • Listening to audio stories and nursery rhymes
  • Favourite TV shows like Peppa Pig and Charlie and Lola
  • Spending time with people who enjoy chatting and keeping things positive

Some people may need extra time to understand directions, so patience and clear communication are key.

The Support They Need

The people you support may have:

  • Sight loss
  • Autism
  • Moderate learning disabilities
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Epilepsy
  • Behaviours that may challenge

You’ll feel confident following clear plans and processes, offering reassurance, and guiding people through their day. Full training and ongoing support are always provided.
