WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?

We're pleased to offer an exciting development opportunity for an existing Family Support Team Practitioner that will involve taking on additional responsibilities and supporting the Psychosocial Services Lead.

This fixed-term opportunity has been created to support succession planning, leadership development and service resilience within our Psychosocial Services Team. It will provide valuable experience for someone looking to further develop their leadership, operational management and service development skills whilst continuing within their substantive role.

Working closely with the Psychosocial Services Lead, you'll help provide professional leadership across our Family Support Services, support colleagues and volunteers, contribute to service development initiatives and help ensure the continued delivery of high-quality psychosocial support for patients, families and carers.

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

Alongside your existing substantive role, you will:

  • Deputise to the Psychosocial Services Lead, providing delegated operational and professional leadership when required
  • Support the leadership and development of the Family Support Team and associated services
  • Provide professional support to colleagues and volunteers, contributing to supervision, development and workforce planning
  • Represent the service at internal and external meetings as required
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
  • Support the achievement of strategic and operational objectives across Psychosocial Services
  • Help maintain high standards of care, service delivery and professional practice across the team

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Please Note that only existing Dorothy House employees are eligible to apply for this role.

This opportunity is likely to suit someone who:

  • Is currently working as a Family Support Team Practitioner or in an equivalent practitioner capacity
  • Enjoys supporting and developing others
  • Has experience providing supervision, mentoring or professional support to colleagues, students or volunteers
  • Demonstrates confident decision-making and leadership skills
  • Is interested in service development, quality improvement and operational leadership
  • Can effectively manage competing priorities and support teams through change

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN?

  • Valuable experience of operational leadership and service management
  • Exposure to strategic planning and workforce development activities
  • Opportunities to represent the service across Dorothy House and with external stakeholders
  • Development of skills that could support future leadership and management opportunities within the organisation

If you would like an informal discussion about this opportunity, please speak with Marika Hills and Sophie Van Walwyk

If this sounds like the right next step in your development journey, we'd love to hear from you.
