COMMUNITY NURSE SPECIALIST | Band 6 | £37,338 - £44,962 per annum (2025 pay award pending)
The successful candidate duties will include:
- To participate in the development of services in line with the organisational strategic direction, to assist individuals to support "Death is a part of life", "Living Well", to lead to a "Peaceful death", incorporating a "Supported bereavement" and participate in developing/maintaining an "increase in income".
- To provide coaching support to the CPCT within the development of a new model of community palliative care.
- To work with the CPCT Clinical Lead to develop a program of continuous quality improvement and service development to improve patient, family, carer and staff experience.
- To work as part of a CPCT, to provide specialist palliative care to those with a life threatening illness and their

- To initiate and deliver formal training programmes in collaboration with the DH Education and Research and Training & Development Teams.

HOURS OF WORK
This is a Part Time position working 22.5 hours over 3 Days, with occasional weekend work.
ABOUT YOU
Due to the community based nature of the role, the post holder will need to hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Essential requirements:
- First Level Nurse qualification with clinical experience at Band 6 level or equivalent
- Clinical experience in relevant speciality
- Demonstrates evidence of palliative care knowledge
- Experience facilitating Learning and Practice
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Ability to work alongside and support other members of the team
- Ability to work independently and manage own caseload
- Ongoing evidence of professional development
Desirable requirements:
- Clinical assessment and analytical skills- PACR course (or be willing to undertake)

- Our Dorothy House Hospice at Home team are committed to providing compassionate and personalised care to support anyone in the community requiring End of Life care in their own home.
- As a carer you will be expected to undertake all aspects of personal care (this can include washing/showering patients, managing bodily fluids including catheters and stomas and providing care after death) as well as provide emotional care and support to the patient and their family, treating them with respect, dignity and compassion at all times.

WHERE WILL I BE WORKING?
Our carers are community based and will occasionally work at our Winsley Hospice. This means that you will be expected to travel anywhere within our geographical catchment area, so access to your own vehicle is essential. (You will be reimbursed for your mileage at our agreed rate.)

HOURS OF WORK
We have a full range both full and part time positions available and provide care both across the day and overnight 365 days a year. We are currently recruiting for Day Carers who can work shifts that cover our 07:00 - 22:00 care needs, including alternate weekends.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- To work as a member of the Housekeeping Team, reporting the Housekeeping Supervisor operating a service that is 7 days a week.
- In our clinical / non clinical areas the scheduled duties will include the following emptying bins, vacuuming, mopping floors, and high / low level dusting. PROJECT MANAGER - NIHR Supported Incubator in Palliative and End of Life CareFixed Term until June 2028 | £45,256.00 per annum (pro rata) (£23.14 per hour)
In this role, you will collaborate closely with co-Leads, the steering group, and key stakeholders. Your focus will be on strengthening research capacity and capability in palliative and end-of-life care, ensuring that the Incubator achieves its objectives. You will play a vital role in driving engagement, supporting researchers, and shaping the future of palliative care research.
The post holder will provide excellent skills in project management by:
- Lead the delivery of the NIHR-Supported Incubator in Palliative and End-of-Life Care, developing and implementing detailed project plans.
- Design and conduct national surveys, workshops, and co-created resources to support research capacity building.
- Develop and implement an evaluation strategy to assess the impact of Incubator activities and ensure continuous improvement.
- Engage and manage key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, ensuring strong collaboration and governance.
- Organise and coordinate meetings with the steering group, subgroups, and wider network members.
- Manage social media, website content, and public engagement to enhance awareness and visibility of the Incubator.

Essential requirements:
- Professional experience in healthcare / research or, a relevant degree-level qualification.
- Proven experience in project management and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Proven experience of working autonomously and setting own priorities to ensure progress is maintained as expected.
- Proficiency in survey design and data analysis.
- Experience of developing effective working relationships with colleagues both within a department, institution-wide and externally.

SHOP MANAGER - THE SHIRES

We are now seeking a dedicated, proactive and experienced individual to join our team as New Goods Manager, leading the flow of new goods from supplier to warehouse to shop floor - ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time, maximising sales potential, and supporting our shop teams across the estate.
RETAIL NEW GOODS MANAGER | £14.21 per hour
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee new goods, including the receiving, checking, storage, pricing, picking, packing, and dispatch - making sure stock flows smoothly into shops and to online customers.
- Decide what new goods to buy, when, and in what quantities- using sales data, current trends, and close collaboration with the senior retail leadership and shop teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for all new goodsacross our retail estate - managing supplier relationships, placing orders, negotiating terms, arranging deliveries.
- Ensure all new goods are correctly processedthrough our EPOS/inventory system, identifying and reporting any discrepancies to the Retail Support Manager.
- Implement and refine stock-management and merchandising processes, delivering efficiencies and aligning with the retail budget.
- Develop and grow Dorothy House's social media presence for new goods, leveraging appropriate platforms to support trends and digital retail initiatives.
- Lead and manage a small team of Retail Support Assistants and volunteers- including recruitment, training, scheduling, PDRs, and volunteer engagement.
- Work closely with the Warehouse & Fleet Managerto co-ordinate transport and timely delivery of stock to shops.
- Undertake regular stock takesat the new goods hub and deliver accurate reports for the finance and retail support teams.
- Provide timely support and advice to shopsabout new goods availability, pricing, and stock-flow planning.
Occasional shop support may be required - including short-term shop-management duties if needed.
