This is a full time (37 hours) post which is flexible across the week. Currently, the work pattern is Monday to Friday but there will be occasions when working evenings and weekends will be part of the role.

About the role

As a Facilities Officer at Sense Scotland you will be responsible for managing the physical environment and maintenance requirements across Sense Scotland sites in the West covering mainly Glasgow. However, travel to other areas as part of the wider facilities and health and safety team is expected when necessary.

This involves working within services and offices for maintenance, DIY repairs, liaison with trades and ensuring the environment complies with health and safety requirements. The successful candidate will also liaise with operational and administration teams as required across sites. This is a hands on position and the successful candidate will have a background in property maintenance/facilities or experience within a handypersons' role who can respond to emergency repairs or planned maintenance requirements. Travel is part of this role therefore a full driving licence is required.

Duties of the Facilities Officer will include

  • Manage the physical environment across Sense Scotland sites as required.
  • Be the main point of contact for tradesmen and suppliers within specific locations either east or west of the country.
  • Use and input data into systems including Microsoft Planner and Excel and undertake regular maintenance checks at various Sense Scotland sites.
  • Observe safe working practices and ensure a safe environment for the people we support and staff.
  • Operate within current Health & Safety legislation as required and with the Health and Safety team.
  • Monitor and maintain safe working practices and have an understanding of the compliance required under Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide key-holding services, as required.
