About Us

Lancashire Cricket was formed in 1864 and is one of eighteen first-class counties within the domestic structure of England and Wales. Driven by our values, we are here to win, inspire play and make memories with the vision of being the best place to enjoy cricket in the world.

Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket, is an award-winning world-class stadium and venue. It is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious venues for sport, business, leisure and entertainment with a capacity of up to 50,000 people for concerts; 26,000 for international cricket matches; meetings and events spaces for up to 2,000 delegates; a four-star hotel with 250 rooms; and an on-site Caffè Nero. It’s a unique place to build a career where no two days are ever the same!

The Opportunity

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of all facilities operations across Emirates Old Trafford, including the cricket stadium, conference & event spaces, Hilton Garden Inn hotel, training facilities, hospitality suites, and surrounding grounds. The role ensures the venue remains safe, compliant, operationally efficient, and event‑ready at all times. Including support at our secondary site at Farington Cricket Ground.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing planned preventative maintenance across the estate, working with external contractors and the in-house team to ensure works are completed and recorded properly.
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of key stadium systems, including floodlighting, scoreboards, PA systems, HVAC, M&E plant, BMS, water systems and bowl infrastructure.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation and standards, including electrical, gas, LOLER, PUWER, legionella, asbestos, fire safety, F-Gas and emergency lighting requirements.
  • Coordinating jobs, repairs, contractor activity and emergency maintenance through the CAFM system.
  • Making sure the venue and its facilities are maintained safely, reliably and efficiently for a wide range of events and day-to-day operations.
  • Managing, supporting and developing the Facilities team to help deliver departmental and club objectives.
  • Supporting utility, energy and sustainability management, including initiatives that improve efficiency across the estate.
  • Assisting with cost management, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, reports, trackers and other facilities administration.
  • Supporting major event setup and delivery across Emirates Old Trafford, Farington Cricket Ground and outgrounds, including occasional unsociable hours to meet business needs

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in facilities management within a sports, leisure, entertainment or similarly complex venue environment.
  • Good working knowledge of PPM systems, CAFM software, BMS systems and asset management.
  • Strong understanding of facilities compliance requirements and health and safety standards.
  • A calm, decisive and solutions-focused approach, particularly during live events or high-pressure situations.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, governing bodies, contractors and event partners.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Office 365, BMS and CAFM systems; purchase ordering software experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and respond to competing demands.
  • Experience managing, supporting and developing team members.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be desirable.
