Salary: £13.79 per hour

We’re looking for an Event Duty Supervisor to help deliver exceptional experiences across a wide range of events — from weddings and performances to conferences, private functions, and magical garden theatre evenings.
You’ll be the friendly, responsible on‑site presence ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and professionally while our specialist teams lead the programme.
What You’ll Do
Event Operations:
- Open and close buildings, completing all pre‑ and post‑event safety checks
- Oversee the safe running of events while Wedding Planners, Artists, and Event Leads deliver the content
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, performers, suppliers, and visitors
- Monitor event timelines, resolving issues quickly and escalating where necessary
On-the-day oversight:
- Ensure all event spaces are set, clean, and ready to an agreed standard
- Manage audience/guest flow, visitor experience, and health & safety compliance
- Coordinate with catering, facilities, technical teams, and volunteers
- Handle incidents, first aid situations (training provided), and risk management
Collaboration:
You’ll work closely with:
- Wedding Planner team for ceremonies and receptions
- Arts Centre/Hanger Farm teams for shows and screenings
- Garden Manager for outdoor theatre & seasonal events
- Events Manager for conferences and private hires
- Fundraising team for donor and supporter events
- Provide clear written handovers and debriefs, and support continuous improvement of our processes.
Customer Service:
- Deliver a warm, confident, professional welcome for all guests
- Handle queries and concerns with sensitivity and problem‑solving
- Promote an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment
Safety & Compliance:
- Uphold fire safety, safeguarding, licensing, and venue policies
- Carry out routine checks (exits, signage, equipment, security systems)
- Keep accurate records, including incident logs and event checklists
What we’re looking for:
- Confident communicator with excellent people skills
- Calm under pressure and solution‑focused
- Reliable, responsible, and comfortable making decisions
- Experience in events, hospitality, customer service, or venue operations (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to undertake first aid training
