Job Title: Estates Officer North
Reports To: Estates Manager Yorkshire and Midlands
Salary: £32,400.00 (pro rata to £17,119 for 19 hours per week)
Terms: Permanent 19 hrs p/w
Location: Home based – Travel to sites will be required
Purpose of the role
The Estates Officer (North) role supports Estate Managers across Yorkshire, the North-East, and North West to manage residential developments, open spaces, and country parks. The role involves coordinating with partners and stakeholders, ensuring sites meet charitable and operational objectives, supporting grant-funded projects, identifying income opportunities, managing licences and permits, and helping deliver Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), while maintaining strong customer service for residents and communities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of Trust sites by coordinating managing agents, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure effective site operations, compliance, environmental outcomes, and community engagement.
- Monitor performance, budgets, and service delivery, while supporting grant funding, commercial opportunities, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), and site promotion.
- Contribute to new site development and service charge sites through inspections, customer support, contractor coordination, and budget management.
- Represent and promote the Trust, ensuring policies are followed, identifying new opportunities, and deputising for Estate Managers when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification (or working towards one) with experience in grant funding, commercial opportunities, and land transactions
- Skilled in developing and managing contracts, management plans, and agreements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders, partners, and communities
- Proficient in MS Office, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve problems under pressure
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to both detail and long-term objectives
Salary & Benefits
- From £32,400 (pro rata to £17,119 for 19 hours per week)
