About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with either an Electrical or Mechanical background to join our Estates Department and help us maintain and improve our Liverpool site.

Our maintenance team undertakes planned and reactive maintenance alongside minor project works across our Liverpool facilities. The site incorporates offices, workshops, laboratories, data centres and specialist marine science infrastructure, providing a varied and interesting working environment.

You will work on a wide range of maintenance tasks including low voltage electrical systems, building management systems (BMS), fire alarms, security systems, HVAC plant, air handling units (AHUs), pumps and associated building services equipment. The role supports facilities that are critical to the delivery of world-class marine science and operational activities.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires a proactive approach to fault finding, maintenance and continuous improvement. In addition, the post holder will participate in an on-call rota of 1 week in every 4, providing out-of-hours support to ensure the continued operation and safety of the site's critical infrastructure.

About you

We are looking for someone with a Mechanical or Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and previous experience within a building services environment.

Experience in the installation, maintenance and fault-finding of electrical or mechanical building services systems is essential. Any additional training required for the role will be provided.

Experience of working on building management systems, HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, fire alarm systems or other critical building services infrastructure would be advantageous.
