Job Description

Job Title: Essex Wellbeing Service Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Purpose: To secure implementation of the following strategic objectives through the development and management of appropriate projects and services:

Supporting People in Need;

Dimensions: i) Direct responsibility for members of staff.

ii) Direct responsibility for designated projects and services.

iii) County of Essex, with occasional input into regional and national matters.

Principal Accountabilities

i) To manage and act as project lead for the Community Agents Essex service (part of the Essex Wellbeing Service), including the line management of appropriate members of staff and participation in management team meetings.

ii) To manage and act as project lead for the Kinder Essex social isolation project (part of the Essex Wellbeing Service), including the line management of appropriate members of staff and participation in management team meetings.

iii) To develop and sustain effective relationships with commissioners, funders and partners of the Essex Wellbeing Service, particularly those relevant to i) and ii) above.

iv) To provide monthly, quarterly and annual monitoring reports, data and information as required by commissioners, funders and partners of the Essex Wellbeing Service.

v) To contribute to the development of plans for extending the Essex Wellbeing Service beyond its existing contract, expiring March 2029.

vi) To be the lead point of contact on safeguarding matters for RCCE-led services/projects within the Essex Wellbeing Service.

Secondary Responsibilities

i) To contribute to the development of strategic funding bids and grant applications.

ii) To explore new ways of delivering services appropriate to changing needs and circumstances.

iii) To support project management teams in handling HR issues and recruitment.

iv) To represent RCCE at local, regional and national levels as appropriate.

Other Duties

i) To undertake any other duties, within the scope of existing knowledge, skills and abilities, as may be required by the Executive Director.

Measures of Success

i) Monitoring reports submitted to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis, demonstrating performance against targets, for all appropriate projects and services.

ii) Submission of satisfactory monitoring reports and data as required by commissioners and funders.

iii) Contribution to plans for extending the Essex Wellbeing Service beyond March 2029.

iv) Other funding/contracts secured.
