The Role and Requirements

About the Company

The Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI) is a unique pan African alliance of 26 member countries, home to the majority of Africa’s remaining elephants, with common policies on conservation of the two species. This includes committing to implementing the African Elephant Action Plan (AEAP); putting ivory stockpiles beyond economic use; closing domestic ivory markets; maintaining the 1989 international ban on the ivory trade and working towards harmonious coexistence between people and elephants. Guinea joined the EPI in 2017 and is an active member of the EPI.
The EPI Foundation (EPIF) is a small and innovative organisation that serves as the Secretariat to the EPI and its member states. The Foundation works directly with government ministries and wildlife authorities, and in partnership with NGOs, IGOs and the private sector. EPIF is overseen by a Board of Trustees, chaired by the Hon. Sharon Ikeazor.
