Location: Bude, Cornwall
Facility: Aspire 2.0
Employment type: Independent / self-employed business opportunity
Hours: Flexible: build your own schedule
Compensation: You retain the income generated by your own coaching business
Opportunity: Potential progression to Director & Shareholder
Build your fitness business within an established boutique facility
Are you an ambitious Personal Trainer or fitness professional (or one half of a fitness power couple) who wants to build something of your own?
Perhaps you’ve considered opening your own studio, but don’t want the financial risk, overheads, leases, and other hassle that come with setting up a fitness premises.
Aspire Fitness 2.0 in Bude may offer a different route.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial fitness professional — or potentially a coaching couple — who are looking to establish and grow their own PT, small-group training and/or specialist coaching business within our established boutique facility.
This is not a conventional employed Personal Trainer position.
It is an opportunity to build your own business within an already established fitness environment, with an existing membership, established (over two decades) reputation, quality equipment and a community of health-conscious clients.
What makes this different?
Aspire already covers the fixed monthly costs of the facility through its existing membership.
That means we can offer the successful candidate something that is increasingly difficult for an independent coach to find:
A place to build your business without paying rent or giving Aspire a percentage of your coaching income.
You will have the freedom to develop your own:
1-to-1 Personal Training
Small-group training
Strength & conditioning
Sports performance
Specialist coaching
Mobility / movement programmes
Yoga / Pilates
Rehabilitation-oriented exercise programmes, within your professional scope
Workshops and courses
Martial arts coaching
Other appropriate fitness services
You decide what you want to offer, who you want to work with and how you want to develop your business.
What Aspire provides
You would be joining an established boutique fitness facility with:
An existing membership community
Established local reputation built over 22 years
Full range of strength and conditioning equipment
A bespoke, intimate training environment
Existing coaches and complementary services
A base from which to develop your own client portfolio
No conventional gym-floor competition
No percentage commission on your own coaching revenue
No requirement to take on a commercial lease or gym premises
You will essentially have the opportunity to build your own coaching business inside an operating fitness business.
What we ask in return
There is one important element to the arrangement.
While Aspire’s founder, Nathan, is overseas or unavailable due to other work commitments, the incoming coach would take responsibility for three existing weekly member sessions:
Monday — 6:00–6:45pm
Tuesday — 5:45–6:15pm
Thursday — 5:45–6:30pm
These sessions are part of the wider partnership arrangement and amount to approximately 2 hours per week. However, there is also scope for the right person to expand the existing classes with their own pay as you go participants.
When Nathan is available to deliver these sessions himself, they return to his schedule.
The purpose is not to fill a conventional coaching rota. It is to create a mutually beneficial arrangement in which the incoming coach contributes to the existing Aspire community while having the freedom to develop their own business.
The longer-term opportunity
For the right person, this could become much more than an independent coaching arrangement.
Once you have established yourself within Aspire, built your client base and demonstrated that you can contribute to the continued development of the business, there is the potential to progress towards becoming a Director and Shareholder of Aspire Fitness 2.0 Ltd.
The intention is to create a genuine pathway towards shared ownership and participation in the future growth of the business.
The exact structure would be agreed separately and subject to appropriate legal and financial arrangements.
In simple terms:
Start by building your own business.
Become established within Aspire.
Then, potentially, become part of Aspire’s ownership and leadership.
Who are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in someone who is:
A qualified and insured Personal Trainer, coach or suitably qualified fitness professional
Experienced and confident working independently
Entrepreneurial and commercially minded
Comfortable taking responsibility for their own clients and schedule
Passionate about high-quality coaching rather than simply selling gym memberships
Professional, personable and community-minded
Interested in building something long term
Excited by the possibility of eventually becoming a business partner
Additional experience in areas such as strength & conditioning, sports performance, small-group training, rehabilitation, mobility, kettlebell training or specialist populations would be advantageous.
We are also open to hearing from two complementary coaches or a coaching couple who could see the potential to develop a shared business within Aspire.
About Aspire Fitness
Aspire has been part of the Bude fitness community for over two decades.
Founded by Nathan Carter, Aspire evolved from a small indoor cycling and Personal Training studio into a specialist small-group training facility incorporating hardstyle and sport-style kettlebell training, circuit training, education and assessment of fitness professionals, sports therapy, climbing and boxing.
Following the pandemic, Aspire deliberately returned to its roots as a smaller, more intimate facility.
Aspire Fitness 2.0 now operates from a 735 sq ft commercial unit at Clearspace, Bude & Stratton Business Park, with a small team of experienced coaches delivering 1-to-1 and small-group training.
The next phase is about carefully growing the business without losing the personal, community-focused environment that makes Aspire different.
This opportunity will suit you if…
You are thinking:
“I don’t really want another job. I want to build something of my own.”
But you also recognise that starting completely from scratch means finding premises, paying rent, buying equipment, building a reputation and finding your first clients.
Aspire offers the opportunity to skip much of that early-stage risk and start building from an established platform.
If you’re ambitious, entrepreneurial and believe you could build something special in Bude, we’d like to hear from you.
Interested?
Please apply with a short introduction explaining:
Your coaching/fitness background and qualifications
The type of business you would like to build
Why you think Aspire would be a good environment for you
Where you see yourself developing over the next 2–5 years
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to build a business — not simply fill a few hours on a gym timetable.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to start a conversation.
