Salary: £17,643.60 per annum (FTE £29,406)
Hours: Part Time - 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term contract for 3 years
Location: Across the West Sussex Mind footprint with Littlehampton, Worthing or Southwick as a base
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per year rising to 27 days after 2 years pro-rata

Overview:
Are you passionate about empowering people living with mental health difficulties to achieve their employment goals? We are recruiting for an Employment Support Worker to join us as we establish our brand new service, Mind Works. We are looking for somebody to deliver person‑centred, recovery‑focused support to individuals accessing our mental health services. You will play an essential role in shaping the delivery of this service and it will make a huge difference to the lives of service users.
In this rewarding role, you will provide one‑to‑one employment support, help people identify and work towards meaningful vocational goals, deliver group workshops, work collaboratively with employers, and build strong partnerships with local agencies.
Your main responsibilities in this role will be:
- To provide personalised, one‑to‑one employment support to individuals with mental health challenges
- Assessing service users’ goals, skills and barriers using action planning, coaching and SMART goal setting
- Supporting job searching, CV writing, applications and interview preparation
- Delivering group workshops
- Partnership building with employers, job centres and training providers
- Facilitating access to training, volunteering and learning opportunities
- Maintaining accurate records and follow safeguarding, data protection and Health & Safety requirements
- To promote inclusive, accessible and values‑driven practice
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience providing employment support or advice casework
- An understanding of challenges faced by people with mental health conditions
- Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills and the ability to work both independently and within a multi‑disciplinary team
- Experience facilitating groups or workshops
- A commitment to tackling inequalities and working in a user‑led way
- An ability to travel across West Sussex Mind’s footprint
- Training or qualifications relating to careers guidance or vocational support (desirable)
