The Vacancy

Due to continued growth and the expansion of our supported employment services, Enham Trust is seeking a passionate and proactive Employment Support Worker to join our team.

About the Role

As an Employment Support Worker, you will adopt a positive coaching approach to support colleagues who may face barriers to entering or sustaining employment. You will work collaboratively across departments, including 3PL, gardening, and domestic teams, providing tailored one-to-one and group support.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering personalised support in line with individual development plans
  • Supporting colleagues to meet KPIs and achieve employment goals
  • Using coaching and mentoring techniques to build confidence, skills and independence
  • Working alongside individuals in their roles, offering practical job aid support
  • Capturing and tracking outcomes and impact data
  • Contributing to colleague reviews and support plans
  • Maintaining accurate records and progress reports
  • Supporting training requirements, including mandatory learning
  • Promoting inclusive practices across the organisation

You will need to respond flexibly to changing priorities, adapt your approach in the moment, and build strong working relationships across operational, People, Finance and leadership teams, as well as with external placement partners.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is educated to GCSE standard (including English and Maths) or equivalent
  • Has previous experience in a support worker or person-centred role
  • Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Communicates confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Has excellent listening skills and an empathetic approach
  • Is comfortable having courageous and constructive conversations
  • Is committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Has strong written skills for reports and email communication
  • Can problem-solve and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Brings a positive attitude and a desire to make a real difference

About you 

You will need:

  • Good communication skills
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • To be compassionate and patient
  • Ideally some experience in a caring industry, for example hospitality or schools
  • To pass our DBS check or be on the DBS Update Service
  • Can work a minimum of 25 hours per week

Even better if you have previous experience and knowledge of disabilities, issues relating to physical access and adaption will be advantageous in addition to having a commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities.
