ACS International Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Educational Psychologist to support students aged 2-18 across our three UK campuses. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experiences and wellbeing of a diverse international student community.

The role is primarily based at our Cobham campus, the largest of our three schools and home to our boarding programme, with time spent supporting students and staff at our Hillingdon and Egham campuses. The successful candidate will be expected to commence work one week before the start of the academic year and attend for a small number of days at the end of the academic year as required.

Purpose of the Role
The Educational Psychologist plays a vital role in supporting student learning, development, and wellbeing through psychological assessment, consultation, observation, and intervention. Working with students who experience a range of learning, behavioural, social, emotional, and developmental challenges, the postholder will provide expert guidance to families, educators, and school leaders.

The role’s primary focus is conducting educational psychology assessments for current ACS students requiring support for moderate special educational needs, access arrangements, accommodations, or adjustments. Reports should provide a clear understanding of how cognitive, academic, behavioural, and social-emotional factors impact learning and school functioning, with practical recommendations for school-based support.

In addition, the Educational Psychologist will provide consultation, staff training, and advice to support inclusive educational practice across ACS. This may include guidance around school-based behavioural interventions, emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and strategies that help students access learning successfully.

Areas of expertise may include:

  • Neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Developmental delays
  • Learning and cognitive differences
  • Child and adolescent emotional wellbeing
  • The relationship between academic, cognitive, behavioural, and social-emotional needs and their impact on learning.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a closely related field
  • Demonstrable experience conducting psychological assessments for children and young people
  • Experience supporting neurodiverse learners and students with special educational needs
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, report-writing, and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage assessment, reporting, consultation, and feedback

  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, safeguarding, and ethical practice
  • Based in the UK as it’s a part time role and visa sponsorship is not possible.

Desirable

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Educational Psychologist, or equivalent international professional qualification
  • Experience working within an international school setting
  • Experience preparing assessment reports that support access arrangements, accommodations, or adjustments for external exam boards such as AP and IB
  • Experience advising schools on practical behavioural intervention strategies and inclusive classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for current ACS students using a range of standardised assessment tools, classroom observations, student interviews, teacher consultations, parent input, and review of school records
  • Administer, score, interpret, and report on assessments such as the WISC, WIAT, Woodcock-Johnson, Vineland, and other relevant cognitive, academic, adaptive, behavioural, and social-emotional instruments
  • Assess and identify students with neurodiverse profiles, specific learning differences, developmental needs, emotional regulation challenges, and other barriers to learning
  • Produce clear, high-quality reports that provide evidence-based recommendations for school support, accommodations, interventions, and Individual Learning Plans
  • Prepare reports that may support applications for access arrangements, accommodations, or adjustments with external exam boards, including AP and IB, where appropriate
  • Clearly explain how academic, cognitive, behavioural, and social-emotional needs may impact a student’s learning, classroom functioning, assessment performance, and overall school experience
  • Meet with parents, teachers, and school leaders to gather information, provide feedback, and support shared understanding of student needs
  • Provide consultation to teaching staff on strategies to support student learning, wellbeing, behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion
  • Support school teams with behavioural intervention planning where appropriate, including classroom-based strategies for attention, regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and complete assessments, feedback meetings, and reports within agreed timelines
  • Deliver professional learning opportunities and parent education sessions where required
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including updates within ACS student information systems.

Role Details
Location: ACS Cobham KT11 1BL, with regular travel to ACS Hillingdon UB10 0BE, and ACS Egham TW20 0HS

Working Pattern: 2.5 days per week (to be mutually agreed by all parties once appointment is made), term time only

Contract Start Date: 1 August 2026 (17 August 2026 in-person start)
