Early Years Supervisor - Strabane Sure Start Plumbridge Developmental Programme for 2-3 year olds  

Would you like to make a difference to children's lives, be part of a dynamic team and receive a wide range of training? If so, Strabane Sure Start are seeking applicants to join our multi-disciplinary team as a Leader for the developmental programme for 2-3 year olds in Plumbridge.

If you have NVQ Level 5 in Childcare, Learning and Development or equivalent, or a qualification above this, e.g. Degree in Early Childhood Studies we would love to hear from you.  Candidates who are working towards these qualifications will also be considered, with the expectation that the qualification must be completed within 2 years. You must also have relevant demonstrable experience working with 0 - 4 year olds.

The Developmental programme for 2-3 year aims to

  • support families and help children develop improved language skills,
  • improve physical development.
  • enhance social and emotional development
  • foster greater independence,
  • increase levels of attention and concentration to help children reach their full potential.

Therefore a sound knowledge of child development is essential, as well good observation and written skills to record and monitor progress accurately and provide action plans, reviews and reports for individual children, recognising different needs . Planning, assessment, observations are a key element of the position.

You will be required to work with a multi-disciplinary team, including external agencies to improve health and social development.

The setting is registered with Early Years and inspected on a regular basis, therefore minimum standards must be met and all paper work kept up to date. The role involves supervision of Early Years assistants and safeguarding will be a key part of the role and you will have a duty of care to all the children in the setting and must follow all policies and procedures ensuring children are kept safe at all times.
