Ladywood District Children's Centres are a targeted service for families with children aged 0-5 years. The Family Support team holds 1-1 caseload work and facilitates group work for families in the Ladywood District

This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate and experienced team. We are seeking a full-time Early Years Outreach Team Manager to cover maternity leave for 12 months. Your role will be to lead and manage the Early Years services to deliver services in the community and family homes, which promote child development, having a primary focus on 0-5 within the 0-19 model, with flexibility for a whole family approach

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • To ensure all sessions delivered by Early Years are planned and delivered with clearly identified outcomes to meet the defined KPIs with an emphasis on narrowing the gap and school readiness.
  • To be first point of contact for partners regarding Early Years Services across the locality- develop and deliver excellent services in partnership with other agencies.
  • To act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of 2-year-old development checks across the district and contract KPI's are met regarding this function (working closely with the Health Visiting Service)
  • In liaison with Health Visiting to ensure integrated child development provision
  • Ensure key public health messages are embedded into Early Year's practice across the locality.
  • SEND lead for the locality.
  • In liaison with Health Visiting Service ensure early identification and support for children with SEN, liaising with external agencies and supporting the delivery of services by external specialist organisations.
  • To contribute to TAFN process
  • To work closely with the Family Support Manager ensuring an integrated approach to working with families
  • To line manage the team of Early Years Outreach Workers.
  • To ensure that good information systems are established and maintained that reflect effective monitoring and tracking of children's progress.
  • To lead on EEE funded places ensuring children access their entitlement and the service meets their required KPI's.
  • To work flexibly and deliver services across the service as directed.

  Skills/Experience

  • Considerable relevant experience of work in an Early Years setting, and or in Children's Centres, gained over several years
  • Leadership and management of early years and outreach staff
  • Experience of being part of the management team of an early year's provision and being responsible for aspects of the EYFS
  • Experience of staff and service performance management
  • Experience of ensuring that parents' access EEE funding and improving take-up
  • Experience of partnership working with professionals in relevant agencies and families to effect change and improve outcomes for children
  • Use of ICT and management systems
  • Good communication skills with staff and stakeholders leading to positive outcomes for children and families
  • Communicating and working in partnership with families and carers
  • The ability to review, analyse and evaluate your own and others' practice

 

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm but may include some occasional evenings.
