Early Learning & Childcare Lecturer
35 hours per week (Full time) | Fixed Term for 12 Months | Dumfries
£41,833 - £50,359 per year depending on qualifications and experience

What’s the Job?
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Early Learning & Childcare professional to join the Education Team as a Lecturer in the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in a College that aims to be one step ahead.
You will support the learners in achieving qualifications across a range of levels of further and higher education programmes equipping them with the knowledge and skills to enable them to progress their study to be successful in their Early Learning & Childcare career.
Who we’re looking for
You will be an empathetic, positive and motivated person who has up to date knowledge of the Early Years Sector, demonstratable skills with a minimum of five years’ experience working in an Early Years setting of which two years in an Early Years management role.
You will have the enthusiasm and commitment to guide learners to progress in their careers or further study, increase their employability and support their personal development. You will have strong organisational and communication skills to inspire and educate the learners who are at the heart of all we do.
You will be able to manage your own workload, meet deadlines, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good IT skills are essential.
You will hold a suitable Early Years qualification at SCQF Level 7 (e.g. HNC/ HC) or above recognised by SSSC (Scottish Social Service Council) as manager/ lead practitioner. It’s desirable that you will hold a Further Education teaching qualification, however full support will be provided to achieve your teaching qualification for the successful candidate.
You will have proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific software/systems. Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and willingness to continuously improve digital competencies is essential.
The majority of your time will be based on campus to support your development into the post, thereafter some activities can be carried out from a remote location.
