The Dynamic Support Advocate role exists so that children and young people with a learning disability, autism, or both and their families and carers are listened to, understood and supported when systems feel complex, pressured or hard to navigate. The role provides a dedicated, trusted person who helps families feel that their child’s needs are being considered, coordinated and acted on. Working alongside health, education, social care and community partners, the Dynamic Support Advocate helps bring the voice and experience of the child, young person and family into every relevant care discussion. This role contributes to Involve Kent’s mission by promoting choice, connecting people and challenging inequalities, so families can access the right support at the right time and build confidence, resilience and connection in their community.

This role could be done well by someone who brings strong relational skills, sound judgement, resilience and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people and families. Relevant lived experience, including personal experience of disability, autism, learning disability, caring responsibilities, or navigating services, is valued where it supports safe, reflective and professional practice.

You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for this role, as it involves community and home visits. The role includes providing regulated activity with adults, so employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
