You’ll ensure thesafe and smooth delivery of performances, hires, and events, while supporting the technical needs ofboth internal teams and visiting creatives. You’ll be responsible for:Technical Management ● Oversee the technical delivery of shows on an ad hoc basis, including operation of lighting, sound, and automation. ● Act as the technical point of contact for staff, visiting companies, artists, and technicians. ● Ensure the safe and effective use of all technical equipment in the venue. ● Operate additional technical systems or equipment as needed. ● Liaise with visiting creatives, hirers, and producers to meet technical requirements for the day. ● Ensure all productions and events are presented to the highest professional standard. ● Produce Show and/or Technical Show Reports where necessary. Health and Safety ● To ensure that Risk Assessments are followed at all times, flagging any concerns to Reading Rep’s Health and Safety team. Building and Equipment Maintenance ● To support the general maintenance of the building in consultation with the General Manager as required when on site. ● Act as a Key Holder where necessary, opening up and closing the venue.● Safely powering up/down technical equipment ● Conducting rig checks and other necessary checks as required. Location: Reading Rep Theatre, King’s Road, Reading, RG1 4LY. General ● Maintain clear and proactive communication with the Reading Rep team and visiting companies. ● Adhere to all Reading Rep Theatre policies and procedures. ● Carry out any other reasonable duties that contribute to the smooth running of the venue.● Represent the theatre positively and professionally at all times. Deployment ● Shifts will be on a zero hour basis, as and when required. ● Average expected shift length of 5-8 hours. The expectation of this position is that it will offer reasonable cover during production and performanceschedules. Evening and weekend working will be required.
