DUTY MANAGER (KING'S BUILDINGS)

Edinburgh University Students' Association  is looking to recruit a Duty Manager to join our Trading Operations team at King’s Buildings.

Edinburgh University Students’ Association is an award-winning organisation, which exists to provide diverse services, representation, and welfare support to the community of over 49,500 students at the University of Edinburgh. The Duty Manager's role is to assist the Venue Manager in the day to day running of all aspects of Kings Buildings House and The Magnet Cafe in JCMB. This is a hands-on role working across all outlets in KB House and The Magnet Cafe. The Duty Manager is required to work both on shift with the team and also administration tasks such as preparing rotas, monitoring and carrying out staff training, stock ordering and any Health and Safety tasks. The Kings Buildings outlets operate daytimes Monday - Friday.

Salary: £15.60 per hour, plus a generous benefits package:

Hours: 15-18 hours per week (no guaranteed hours)

Pattern: 2 shifts per week: 7.30am - 6pm Monday to Friday (Term Time position with occasional evening and weekend requirement)

Contract: Zero Hours

The Role:

To support the management and smooth/safe operation of the Students’ Association’s venues including all F&B outlets. The Duty Manager will ensure effective supervision of outlets and will drive high standards of customer service and food/beverage quality at all times. Ensuring that venues are managed and maintained in a safe a responsible manner at all times.

The post holder will support the Venue Operations Manager in delivering excellent commercial performance, working towards ambitious targets around turnover and profitability.

The post holder will be required to work their shifts as broken up as required by the business needs including evenings and weekends.

The Person:

An enthusiastic, positive and competent manager with experience of working in bars and/or catering outlets to a high standard with excellent levels of service. A person with high expectations of themselves and others.
